Her mother is Filipina as is her father, and she has Irish and Scottish descent. Mitchell is also Lea Salonga's cousin, the famous actor in musical theater and singer. Growing up, Mitchell attended Rockridge Secondary before transferring to the West Vancouver Secondary School. In her teens she was modeling for a variety of companies across the globe. She traveled across the world to Barcelona Bangkok Hong Kong before getting back to Toronto and pursuing her studies in acting in Toronto.
